LOS ANGELES, CA – Aug. 1 — In the midst of their 30th anniversary "30 Revolutions Tour," Grammy Award-winning hometown heroes Ozomatli will perform live at the Rage Against the Regime rally this Saturday at Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles. The band will bring the power and joy of three decades of music and movement to the heart of the resistance.

The performance — slated for 11:00 a.m. — follows Ozomatli’s explosive, impromptu set at June’s protest, when thousands gathered downtown to challenge authoritarianism, anti-immigrant policies, and racial injustice. In a now-viral moment, Ozomatli was joined onstage by legendary guitarist Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave), who lent his signature fire to a blistering set from the back of a flatbed truck as protesters filled the streets.

Stand with Ozomatli. Stand with your city. Stand for something bigger.

The day’s festivities include powerful speakers from BLM Grassroots LA, Translatin, Def Justice and other special surprises.

“We’ve always believed music has the power to mobilize people and speak truth,” the band said in a statement. “Now is the time to show up—loudly and visibly—for immigrants, for workers, for communities of color, for your neighbors, friends, for the good of us all. We’re proud to stand with this critical movement and call on our city to rise up in solidarity. Bring your signs, bring your voices, bring your love—and let’s make this moment matter.”

The band, which also jammed at the June rally with Indigenous drummers representing the American Indian Movement SoCal and the Yaqui, Navajo and Pueblo tribes, said they hope their return to the rally this Saturday will help mobilize and inspire crowds once again.

Organizers are preparing for another massive gathering of Angelenos calling for justice, democracy, peace and unity. Ozomatli’s performances embody the power of music as resistance and make for a must-see event.

Ozomatli’s 30th anniversary tour collides with a national uprising. The rally’s location, timing, and urgency in the wake of the executive branch’s unleashing of federal law enforcement and U.S. military branches upon the citizens of California make it a major cultural and political moment. From Morello’s surprise collaboration to the crowd’s sheer energy, the June rally made headlines, an indelible display, and an important social statement. This one promises to provide the same and more.
